Summer is finally here, at last! I’m kick starting it with a favorite in our house: BBQ tofu. It looks, smells and tastes like the sunny season and requires so little preparation that you can still enjoy the nice weather.
This recipe can also be done on the barbecue, but cooking time will vary.
- 1 pack of extra firm tofu pressed** and cut in cubes
- 3/4 cup barbecue sauce of your choice
- 1 tbsp Sriracha
- 1 tsp garlic salt
- A little bit of oil
Preheat oven at 400 degrees F.
In a bowl, mix all the ingredients. Place in refrigerator for 1 hour minimum.
Layer the tofu in an oiled baking tray and keep the the remaining barbecue sauce mix aside.
Bakes for 20 minutes before turning over and brushing with the barbecue sauce you set aside previously.
Bake a further 20 minutes or until the tofu is getting deep brown.
** Place the tofu block on paper towels, add another layer on top. Top with a chopping board and weigh it down with a book for 30 minutes
