Granola is one of my favourite foods. It’s filling, tasty, healthy and so versatile! However, one thing one needs to be careful about when buying granola however is the sugar content… People often forget to do so as granola is always branded as an healthy food and take it for granted.
My favourite granola brand is Grandma Emily. Made in Montreal (Canada), they are:
- Low in sugar (the lowest out there!)
- Low in sodium
Due to my fabulous collaboration with Grandma Emily, I get to try all kinds of their superb granola and create new delicious dishes!
The first recipe is a different take on my favourite dessert ever: the crumble, which I also enjoy as breakfast. This one was made using raspberries and the original granola from Grandma Emily.
Raspberry Granola Crumble
For the filling:
- 3 cups raspberry
- ¼ cup maple syrup
- 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- ½ tsp ground nutmeg
For the crumb topping:
- 3 cups granola I use Grandma Emily Original
- 2 tbsp maple syrup
- 1 tbs coconut oil melted
- ¼ tsp salt
Preheat oven at 350 degrees F.
In a saucepan, add all the filling ingredients and slowly bring to a boil. Simmer until the syrup thickens and the apples are tender.
Remove from heat and set aside while preparing the crumb topping.
In a food processor, combine all the crust ingredients until sticky and crumbly.
In a 9×6 inches oven dish, spread the apple filling evenly.
Top with the crumb topping.
Put in the oven and bake for 18-20 minutes, until the top is browning slightly.
Remove from oven and set aside to cool for 10-15 minutes.
It’s just as delicious cold. You can keep it in the refrigerator 2-3 days.
You definitely should go check their website and see what other delicious treats they offer!
